  • Fridge fans are add-on fans designed to help a caravan fridge cool more efficiently — especially in hot weather. In simple terms, they improve airflow so the fridge can get colder faster and hold temperature more consistently.

There are two main types of fridge fans:

    1) External fridge fans (behind the top vent)

External fans mount behind the upper fridge vent on the outside of the van. Their job is to move air across the fridge’s condenser fins (the hot side of the system), helping heat escape more efficiently.

    Benefits of external fans:

    • Helps the fridge run more efficiently (less heat build-up behind the fridge)

    • Improves cooling performance, particularly in higher ambient temperatures

    • Helps the fridge get colder and stay colder

    2) Internal fridge fans (inside the fridge cabinet)

Internal fans mount inside the fridge and circulate the cold air around your food. This prevents “hot spots” and keeps temperatures more even throughout the cabinet.

    Benefits of internal fans:

    • Helps reduce frost build-up on 3-way fridge fins or compressor fridge evaporator plates

    • Circulates air for more even cooling (including the door area)

    • Maintains airflow even when the fridge is packed full

    • Helps the fridge recover temperature faster after the door is opened

In short: external fans help get heat out, and internal fans help spread the cold air around.

Many caravanners use both for best performance.

  • In many caravans, the fridge can’t be installed exactly the way the manufacturer recommends.

Limited space, time, and build costs often mean clearances, venting, or airflow paths aren’t perfect. When airflow is restricted, heat builds up behind the fridge and performance drops — and you notice it most in hot weather.

A fridge fan kit helps by improving airflow where it matters:

    • External fridge fans (behind the top vent) assist the natural draft by pulling hot air out and pulling airflow across the condenser fins, helping the fridge dump heat more efficiently.

    • Internal fridge fans (inside the fridge cabinet) circulate cold air evenly, reducing warm spots (like in the door), helping when the fridge is packed full, reducing frost build-up, and helping the fridge return to temperature faster after the door is opened.

In short: external fans help the fridge get rid of heat, and internal fans help the fridge use the cold air more effectively — both improve real-world performance when installations and conditions aren’t ideal.

  • Very easy.

Our kits are designed to be DIY-friendly, with 3D-printed mounting plates that simplify the install and remove all the guesswork.

All components required are included, along with clear printed step-by-step instructions.

If you have questions, our phone number is on the instructions.

In many setups, installation and wiring can be done in as little as 20 minutes.

  • No.

Klevacool fans are dynamically balanced to minimise rotational imbalance, so they run smooth and vibration-free. This delivers quiet operation and reduces load on the bearings, improving service life.

Just like wheel balancing on a vehicle, balancing matters.

Lower-quality fans frequently skip this process, which can lead to vibration, increased noise, and premature bearing wear.

  • The Klevacool Remote is a small, easy-to-reach controller that mounts inside your caravan. It lets you override the fans whenever you want:

    • Force ON – runs the fans continuously

    • Force OFF – keeps the fans off (handy for long-term park-up/storage)

    • Otherwise, the system continues operating normally by monitoring temperature behind the vent.

It also has a front multi-colour status light so you can see what the fans are doing at a glance:

    • Green: Power is on and the system is monitoring temperature

    • Blue: Fans are ON and running

    • Red: Fans have been forced OFF

  • Yes.

Any product on our website that displays the Australian Made green-and-gold kangaroo logo is certified through the Australian Made Campaign.

As licensed users of the Australian Made Campaign logo, we’ve been thoroughly vetted. That approval process requires evidence to be supplied — including things like purchasing documentation, workshop/production facilities, assembly processes, and supplier details — to confirm the products genuinely meet the Australian Made criteria.

Plenty of businesses can say “Australian made”, but products carrying the official Australian Made Campaign logo have had to prove it.

It’s a rigorous process — and that’s exactly why it matters.

  • We primarily use ABS.

We've found ABS to be easy to print, produces a nice finish & is very tough.

We can also print in PLA, PETG, ASA, Polycarbonate & Nylon, depending on the material properties required for the item being printed.

  • We are no longer custom printing items.

  • Short answer, yes.

However we need a lot of information & don’t design “one off” items as the time cost can be excessive. Please use our contact page to let us know what you’re considering.

  • Our Mounts for Anderson Plugs are made from ABS+ plastic which means they’re not brittle. They also have a lower plate that helps prevent scratching when the plug is fitted or removed. This lower plate also enables the dust plug retaining wire to be captured between the two parts of the mount.

The Anderson plug is held tightly by the mount, but we’ve also added a stainless steel retaining bolt to ensure that all brands of Anderson style plugs are held tight.

Our mounts are also available in a wide range of colours.
