Using It Inside a Fridge

Caravan fridges, especially 3-way fridges, build up a lot of moisture and condensation. The unit isn't waterproof, so for in-fridge use, seal it in a small ziplock bag first (do this in a dry spot with low humidity) to keep moisture away from the battery compartment and electronics. This greatly extends its life. Temperature readings stay accurate in the bag, but the humidity reading will show the air inside the bag rather than the fridge.

Important Notes

• Comparing readings: Accuracy is ±1°C, so two thermometers can read up to 2°C apart and both be within spec. Fridge temperatures also vary from shelf to shelf, and absorption fridges cycle on and off. When checking against another thermometer, place both side by side and give them at least an hour to settle.

• Graphing: Temperatures are logged hourly.

• Live updates: Readings update every 10 minutes, or sooner if the temperature changes by 0.5°C or more.
