Ensure you have a Dometic rooftop vent (NOT Thetford) – see photos on page.
You’ll need 12V power behind your fridge (often available if you have a fridge light).
Decide if you’d like to add internal fans and/or the Klevacool Remote.

Important Notes!
The vent MUST have the vertical sections, shown in the picture below, to enable the fans to mount correctly.
This fan system is specifically designed to fit the DOMETIC rooftop fridge vents, as used on some caravans.
This kit will NOT fit Thetford rooftop vents.
Fans must be installed in the upper vent, mounted on the roof.
The vents shown in the pictures are not supplied. The fan mounting plate supplied in the kit is clipped onto your existing vent.
Installation of these fans is simple, but a power supply is required for them to operate. Wiring will need to be installed from the van electrical system to the vent. 4 meters of wire is included.
We don't recommend connecting directly to the battery as this will bypass any battery low voltage protection devices in your van.
If you are unsure how to install this wiring, please consult with your local auto electrician or caravan repair shop.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if this kit suits my Dometic rooftop vent?
This kit is specifically designed for the compatible Dometic rooftop vent shown on the product page. Check your roof vent against the identification photos before ordering. Dometic vents have “Dometic” embossed on the side of them.
It isn’t the kit for a Thetford rooftop vent.
Why use fans in the rooftop vent?
The rooftop vent is the hot-air outlet for the fridge cavity. Mounting the fans there allows them to actively exhaust heated air from behind the fridge and draw cooler replacement air in through the lower wall vent.
That helps maintain airflow through the cooling components rather than simply circulating hot air around behind the fridge.
Will the rooftop fan kit work when my three-way fridge is running on gas or 240V?
Yes. The fans are removing heat from behind the fridge, regardless of whether the fridge is producing that heat from its gas burner or 240V heating element.
They don’t interfere with the fridge’s choice of energy source.
Can I use the Dometic rooftop fan kit with a compressor fridge?
Yes, where the fridge installation uses the compatible Dometic rooftop vent. Compressor fridges also need somewhere for condenser heat to go.
The important part is the vent and installation arrangement, not simply whether the fridge is a three-way or compressor model.
I already have a factory fan behind my fridge. Will the rooftop fans still help?
They can. Factory fans mounted within the fridge cavity may circulate air without positively exhausting it outside.
The rooftop-mounted Klevacool fans actively pull hot air out through the roof vent, helping establish airflow from the lower intake through to the top of the cavity.
Do I have to drill or glue anything to fit the rooftop fan kit?
No. The mounting system is designed to fit the compatible Dometic rooftop vent without drilling or gluing.
That keeps the installation neat and avoids unnecessary modification to the roof vent.
Do I need the Klevacool Remote with the rooftop fans?
No. It isn’t necessary for normal automatic operation.
It’s particularly useful with the rooftop kit because the fans are very quiet and the status LED on the roof-mounted controller can’t normally be seen from inside the caravan. The remote shows whether the system is operating and lets you force the fans on or off when required.
Will rooftop fridge fans fix every hot-weather cooling problem?
No. They can improve performance where poor heat removal is contributing to the problem, but fridge performance depends on more than the fans alone.
Restricted airflow, incorrect baffling, blocked ventilation or a fault with the fridge can still cause poor cooling and may need to be addressed separately.
