The Klevacool Internal Fan Door Switch Kit adds a fridge door switch that automatically turns the internal fans off when the door is opened, while switching the interior light on at the same time.

This kit is suitable for V3 controllers only.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT VERSION CONTROLLER I HAVE?
There’s two ways:
If your fans have a “DOOR SW” option, your controller will be a V3.
If you remove the fans from the fins and look at the rear of the controller, it will have the version written on the back plate.
Method 1 is the easiest & method 2 is only required if method 1 is impractical or impossible.
CAN I ADD A DOOR SWITCH TO MY EARLIER MODEL FAN WITH A V1 CONTROLLER?:
Yes, BUT only if your controller is mounted HORIZONTALLY.
Earlier fan models with the vertically mounted controllers are not compatible. There’s simply not enough room to run the cables.
An upgrade kit for horizontally mounted controllers is in the works, but isn’t available yet.

What does the Klevacool Door Switch do?
It turns your internal fridge fans off when you open the fridge door, and switches the interior LED lights on at the same time. Close the door and the fans go back to normal operation.
Why turn the fans off when the fridge door is open?
Internal fans running with the door open push cold air straight out of the fridge, so the fridge has to work harder to pull the temperature back down. Turning the fans off while the door is open keeps more of that cold air inside.
Which Klevacool internal fans is the Door Switch Kit compatible with?
The kit suits Klevacool 3-way internal fan systems with a V3 controller. If your fans have a "DOOR SW" option, you've got a V3 controller.
How do I check which controller version I have?
The easiest way is to look for a "DOOR SW" option on your fans. If it's there, your controller is a V3.
If you can't check that way, unclip the fans from the fridge fins and look at the back of the controller. The version is written on the back plate.
Can I add a door switch to an older Klevacool internal fan?
Only if the controller is mounted horizontally, and the upgrade kit for those controllers isn't available yet. Earlier models with vertically mounted controllers aren't compatible, because there isn't enough room to run the cables.
Does the door switch save power?
Yes. The interior light only runs while the door is open, rather than staying on, so the system draws less current overall.
Can I fit the Door Switch Kit myself?
Yes. It's designed as a simple retrofit. The kit includes detailed instructions, plus the double-sided tape, self-adhesive cable mounts, alcohol wipes and Blu Tack needed for installation. If purchased with an internal kit, we will connect and test the switch for you.
