Installing these fans is straightforward, but they do require a power supply to operate. Here’s what you need to know:

• The included 4-meter, 3mm-diameter wire is slim enough to fit through even the smallest fridge drain holes.

• For optimal performance, we recommend connecting the fan system to your fridge’s power supply, which should already be linked to your van’s battery management system.

• If your fridge’s power supply isn’t accessible, the fans can also be connected directly to your van’s battery management system.

• If you’re unsure about wiring installation, it’s best to consult a qualified auto electrician or a caravan repair specialist for assistance.

Is the Klevacool Adjustable Internal Fan suitable for compressor fridges up to 100 litres?

Yes. The Adjustable Internal Compressor Fridge Fan is designed mainly for smaller compressor fridges up to around 100 litres.

It's particularly useful where the fridge has a compressor bulge inside the cabinet, because the bulge provides a convenient mounting position.

Should I choose the Adjustable or the Compact Single internal fan?

Both suit compressor fridges up to around 100 litres. The difference is where they mount.

The Adjustable fan mounts on the compressor bulge inside the cabinet, making use of space that would otherwise be hard to use. It also lets you change the airflow direction to suit your fridge.

The Compact Single suits smaller fridges that have enough room at the rear of the cabinet to mount the fan there.

Why is the fan adjustable?

The adjustable mount lets you change the direction of the airflow to suit the layout of your fridge.

The fan can be angled up to 55 degrees either side of vertical. That makes it easier to aim the airflow at the area where it will do the most good.

Where should I aim the fan inside my compressor fridge?

We prefer to have the fan blowing towards the freezer section or cold plate. In our experience that gives the most noticeable results, and the fan was designed with that airflow direction in mind.

That said, this gets debated constantly online. Some people prefer the fan blowing the opposite way, and the best result can depend on the fridge layout and what you're trying to achieve.

If you want to try the opposite airflow direction, the fan assembly can be taken apart and the fan turned around.

Will this fan help reduce frost inside my compressor fridge?

Yes. Keeping air moving across the cold surfaces reduces frost build-up and stops frost from building into a thick insulating layer.

How effective it is depends on humidity, fridge temperature, door seals, how the fridge is used and how it's loaded.

Can an internal fan help even out temperatures from the top to the bottom of my fridge?

Yes. Internal fridge fans move the cold air around the cabinet, instead of letting temperature differences develop between different areas.

That's particularly useful when the fridge is fairly full, or when natural air circulation inside the cabinet is limited.

Does the fan run continuously, or does the thermostat switch it on and off?

You can choose. A built-in switch lets you run the fan continuously or have the thermostat control it. The thermostat probe can also be repositioned, which gives you some control over when the fan switches on and off.

If you'd prefer the fan to run only while the fridge is running, it can be wired to the compressor fan output instead.

How much power does the internal fridge fan use?

Very little. The fan system draws about 0.1A while running and about 0.03A when the fan is off. If it ran continuously, the maximum would be around 2.4Ah over 24 hours.

Actual daily consumption will generally be lower if the thermostat is switching the fan on and off.

Do I need to drill holes in my fridge to install the adjustable fan?

No. The fan mounts using removable self-adhesive strips, so there's no need to drill into the fridge cabinet.

That makes installation straightforward and avoids permanently modifying the fridge.
