The mounting covers the wires & holds the connectors.

The dust cover keeps dust & insects out of the plugs.

This cover can replace the panel mount cigarette lighter used on some vans.

Also great for mounting two 50A connectors to a flat surface without the wires showing.

Our mount has the following features:

My van came with a cigarette lighter socket for the solar connection. This wasn't adequate for my purpose & I couldn't find a neat mounting for a 50A connector. This cover will replace the panel mount cigarette lighter used on some vans. Also great for mounting a 50A connector to a flat surface without the wires showing.

One could be placed in the fridge & one in the freezer.

The remote temperatures are then sent back to the base unit using radio signals.

Wireless Remote Thermometer for Caravans, RVs and Camping

Want to know how hot it is outside without stepping out of the van? This wireless remote thermometer has a battery-powered sensor that sends its temperature back to a display unit by radio. No cables to run through walls or windows. The display shows the remote sensor's reading and the temperature where the display sits, side by side.

How It Works

About the IN and OUT Labels

This is an indoor/outdoor thermometer, so the display labels the remote sensor reading "OUT" and its own built-in reading "IN". That's just the labelling. It doesn't change how the thermometer works.

Using the Remote Sensor in a Fridge

Fridges, especially 3-way caravan fridges, are full of moisture and condensation, and the remote sensor isn't built for that. If you do put it in a fridge, seal it in a small clip-seal bag first. Seal the bag somewhere dry, not in a humid van, so you're not trapping moisture in with it. The sensor will last a lot longer, and the temperature still reads normally. It just reacts a little slower to changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to run any wires?
No. The sensor talks to the display by radio, and both run on AAA batteries.

Why does the display say IN and OUT?
It's an indoor/outdoor thermometer. "OUT" is the remote sensor and "IN" is the sensor built into the display.

Where should I put the sensor outside?
Somewhere shaded and out of the rain, like under the awning or on the shady side of the van. A sensor sitting in direct sun will read well above the real air temperature.

Can I use it to check my caravan fridge?
You can, but seal the sensor in a clip-seal bag first. Fridges are full of condensation, and moisture will shorten its life.

Why does it read differently to my other thermometer?
Every thermometer has a tolerance, so two can read a little apart and both be working fine. Place them side by side and give them time to settle before you compare.

Using It Inside a Fridge

Caravan fridges, especially 3-way fridges, build up a lot of moisture and condensation. The unit isn't waterproof, so for in-fridge use, seal it in a small ziplock bag first (do this in a dry spot with low humidity) to keep moisture away from the battery compartment and electronics. Important Notes

• Comparing readings: Accuracy is ±1°C, so two thermometers can read up to 2°C apart and both be within spec. Fridge temperatures also vary from shelf to shelf, and absorption fridges cycle on and off. When checking against another thermometer, place both side by side and give them at least an hour to settle.

• Graphing: Temperatures are logged hourly.

• Live updates: Readings update every 10 minutes, or sooner if the temperature changes by 0.5°C or more.
